History of Kamen Rider

Kamen Rider was originally created by Shotaro Ishinomori a mangaka named (1938 - 1998) who is also creator of Kikaider, Keiji Roboto, Inazuman, Cyborg 009 and Skull Man. At first, the Kamen Rider series is an adaptation of the Skull Man redesigned by Ishinomori Shotaru into shape grasshopper, grasshopper pattern and design was chosen by his own son. Kamen Rider is the story of a super hero TOEI production (a film company that originated in Japan) .

Kamen means mask, and Rider means motorist. So in general Kamen Rider means motorists who use the mask. Actually, Kamen Rider is someone who has the power to transform itself into a super-hero who masked and armored which also has incredible power. Kamen rider usually uses the vehicle of a motorcycle. Kamen Rider has a variety of shapes and types. There is human, Cyborg (human half robot), 100% robot, half-human monsters, some even 100% monster.

In various Kamen Rider series, various character was created as the protagonist (good guy) and anatagonis (villain). Kamen Rider series made ​​sometimes relate to each other. Kamen Rider series was first created in 1971 and is still ongoing until now with many variations of the story.

Currently, Kamen Rider categorized into 2 "era". Kamen Rider Showa era is divided into several Kamen Rider :

After the third Kamen Rider, rider emerging new era in the 2000s that the Heisei Era.
